On Tuesday, April 28, first-grade students from “Jagoš Kontić” Elementary School visited the “Goranović” Meat Industry, where they had the opportunity to learn about food production, sustainable development, and the importance of the green economy through a practical example.
Accompanied by teachers Rajka Antović, Vera Milović, and Ljiljana Jašović, as well as educators Ivana Ždralević and Milica Jelić, and teaching assistants Jelena Eraković and Jelena Ivanović, the children were introduced to one of the local community’s important resources in an engaging and educational way.
The visit was organized as part of the cross-curricular theme Sustainable Development – Green Economy, allowing students to gain new knowledge about the food production process and the functioning of a modern factory through direct experience.
During the tour, the students experienced the hospitality of the employees at the “Goranović” company, who welcomed them warmly and presented part of the production process in a child-friendly manner.
Such activities represent an important segment of education, as they enable children to connect theoretical knowledge with practice, developing awareness of the importance of the local economy, sustainability, and a responsible attitude toward the community.
